Sales price increase - change in royalties

From December 1st, sales prices increase.

New prices can be seen on the website.

Furthermore, we change from a fixed royalty of 1 Eur for each sold image, to a flat rate of 30% of the actual sales price. This simplifies the process for us, and will make the future price increases easier to implement. 

Promotion of special photo reports

We have recently received a batch of images from North Korea. In order to promote this images, we have made a collection of some of the images, and promote the collection on the scanstockphoto opening page. We have also made a unique google ad, specially for this collection. Hopefully this can attract new customers, and some sale of the images.

Other photographers uploading a batch of images, being somehow rare, unique, special, can expect the same. (promotion on the front page, google ads).

So, what can be if interest for such a photo report. Well, it can for instance be "Climbing Mount Everest", "Guantanamo bay images ", "A day in President Putin's life", "Vintage images from London" or "A collection of vintage  Olympic athletes"

New company logo

As most of you probably have seen, we have a new company logo. We are slowly improving the looks of our website. Hopefully, this will give some positive vibrations to our customers, and improve sales.

Election in Russia - March 4 2012 - images wanted

In short time, the Presidential Election is held in Russia.  Images from the election, and images of President Putin and Prime Minister Medvedev is of interest.

All candidates to the Presidency:

• Vladimir Putin, nominated by United Russia
• Gennady Zyuganov, nominated by Communist Party of the Russian Federation
• Sergey Mironov, nominated by A Just Russia
• Vladimir Zhirinovsky, nominated by Liberal Democratic Party of Russia
• Mikhail Prokhorov, independent.

are of interest.

If there any Russian photographers with images already, or the opportunity to get some images, don't hesitate to upload them to us.

New collection: "In the news"

We will from now on, have a collection on the front page containing images we categorize as "In the news". The collection will be updated regularly, depending on what's happening around the world. Currently we have images related to Syria, economic crisis in Europe, and the economic crisis in Greece.

We will try to add images in this collection, immediately we have images of an interesting event. Furthermore, we will remove images when the interest of a topic is reduced.

We see from previous experience that images of this kind get sales, and being promoted on the front page will increase possible sales even more. 

Simplified procedure for model releases

We are aware that the procedure for uploading model releases is time consuming. Especially for photographers with many images containing (many different) models this will be a lot a work.

For photographers with many releases and many images, we accept a easier solution:

The photographer can send all releases by e-mail to info@scanstockphoto.com.
Furthermore, the photographer must send new releases when using models for whom no release have been provided.

We will be selective when granting this simplified process. Please send us an e-mail and ask if you want to use this simplified process.
